Scotland Week - New York Feat Stanley Odd / Rachel Sermanni (w/ Louis Abbott) / Breabach


The Scots are about to invade New York City once again as part of Scotland Week 2013 when the Caledonia Collective come together to perform at Webster Hall on April 6, 2013.



The Caledonia Collective is presented by Creative Scotland and CPL, and supported by Scottish Government.



Alternative hip-hop act Stanley Odd, folk singer Rachel Sermanni (with Louis Abbott from folk-pop band Admiral Fallow) and folk band Breabach will all grace the stage at the famous Webster Hall to showcase great Scottish talent.

Stanley Odd, who have been together for three years, released their debut album Oddio in 2010 and follow up Reject in 2012 accompanied by a relentless schedule of live shows. The band have supported the likes of Arrested Development, Asian Dub Foundation, Sage Francis and Easy Star All-Stars, amongst numerous headline appearances and UK festival slots including T in the Park, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, Belladrum, the Insider festival, Wickerman and Celtic Connections.

21-year-old singer-songwriter Rachel Sermanni consolidates her growing reputation as one of folks bright new things with debut album ‘Under Mountains’, recently released on Middle of Nowhere Recordings. Rachel launched into the world of singer-song writing at 17, and has since played in excess of 400 shows across the UK, Europe and a handful of shows in the US and Asia as well as supporting Mumford & Sons and Newton Faulkner. With The Sunday Times, The Independent and Q all hailing Rachel as the next big thing, 2013 looks bright for the singer.



Breabach won Folk Band of the Year at the 2012 Scots Trad Awards and the internationally renowned Scottish 5-piece have an engaging highland charm coupled with a tough-but-tasteful modern approach to Scottish Celtic Music. Highland pipes, Gaelic & English song and subtle yet energetic rhythms combine to create a truly unique sound. A repertoire that effortlessly fuses the traditional and contemporary underlines their commitment and passion for their musical heritage but also displays a willingness to explore and challenge boundaries.

We’re looking forward to a great night and introducing new audiences to these fantastic Scottish musicians.”
