T in The Park is no more.

Geoff Ellis has announced that Scotlands biggest music festival "T in the Park" has been cancelled for good, with his focus turning towards the TRNSMT festival which has been held in Glasgow Green since 2017.

Since its incarnation in 1994, T in the Park has been the host to some of the biggest bands in the globe such as The Who, Radiohead, Green Day, Rage Against The Machine, Oasis and many others, attracting not just people from Scotland but people from other parts of Britain, Europe and beyond.

Due to health related reasons, T in the Park moved from its home in Balado to Strathallan Castle in 2015, this was received negatively from festivalgoers, mainly due to problems with traffic.

The festival was put on hiatus in 2017 due to site issues with TRNSMT being a temporary replacement, being in the heart of Glasgow it has enjoyed attracting over 100,000 people every year, prompting Ellis to focus more on TRNSMT and cancelling T in the Park for good.

Ellis concluded "It was an amazing festival, but it ran its course, It was really the third major festival in the UK. Weve got some great memories…well always have them and so will all the people who grew up with it. Its all about TRNSMT for us now, things move on and we keep creating.

"The festival scenes really, really healthy these days and its great to still be amongst it."
