Amphetameanies announce new single and video

The Amphetameanies new double-A single: Another Train / Be Yourself, available on I-Tunes from May 1st

Marking their 14th year together, this is the ninth single release from Glasgows favourite nine-piece indie-ska eccentrics.
It was recorded at Belle and Sebastians Banchory Studio, with B&S boy Mick Cooke engineering, and Bis-kid John Disco producing.
These tracks are taken from the bands third longplayer, "Revenge of the Meanies", which is due out midsummer on vinyl, CD and download, on Scotlands F&J Records/Germanys RatRaceRecords

Latest meanies chat and news:

This month, The Amphetameanies are deeply chuffed to be the only Scottish band playing at the London International Ska Festival at the Clapham Grand Theatre

21-24 April 2011 alongside original Jamaican greats KEN BOOTHE, DAVE & ANSELL COLLINS, BOB ANDY & MARCIA GRIFFITHS, plus solo appearances by 2Tone heroes Lee Thompson and Mark Bedford of MADNESS, Lynval Golding of THE SPECIALS and Dave Wakeling of THE BEAT and an extraordinary line-up of top ska acts from Europe, Asia and the US

At huge expense (an £80 green screen off Ebay, a borrowed camera and a dozen nights in editing the sod) the Amphetameanies have a psychedelic new promo clip out, for our last single, also drawn from the Revenge... sessions, Good One Go
Last December, The Amphetameanies battled through 500 miles of Arctic weather to play the Bowlie 2 Weekender way down at Butlins in Minehead, Somerset, and were a big hit with the uber-indie crowd, who hailed them as "the find of the festival".
After 14 years on the go, people are still just finding the meanies.... who does the publicity for this band? oh...wait...its me, isnt it.....

At Bowlie2, the meanies were joined on stage by their ex-guitarist Alex Kapranos for a few songs, a reunion that was repeated last month when they were invited to play at Mr Ks birthday party. They hit that buffet like a pack of wild dogs, I can tell you. It was like theyd never seen a vol-au-vent before....
