Song of Return release debut album ‘Limits’ on Monday 6th June 2011
Song of Return came to be from the writing partnership of Craig Grant & Chris Gordon, previously two thirds of the creative force of ‘Union of Knives’, who released the critically lauded album, “Violence & Birdsong” on EMI.
The pair have undoubtedly drawn influence from their time working with such production giants as multi-platinum selling British producer Steve Osborne (Elbow, Suede, New Order and Oscar Winning producer Atticus Ross (OST The Social Network, OST The Book of Eli and Nine Inch Nails).
Having broken cover from the shadow of previous project ‘Union of Knives’, Glasgow’s Song of Return bring together a here and now collection of unsettling dark sounds matched against light to dark vocals, sweeping harmonies and carved melodies within an industrial post-rock frame.
For live duties Craig is joined by members of Admiral Fallow, Other People and Moon Unit.
Given the Calibre of contributors to ‘Limits’ this debut album is hailed as one of the most eagerly anticipated of 2011.
The official album launch will take place at The Arches, Glasgow on Saturday 4th June from 7pm. Tickets are £4 and available from www.thearches.co.uk
