Glasgows Electric Frog returns during high summer with yet another instalment of exceptional musical entertainments mounted in the very heart of the city. Electric Frog has now definitively thrown off its micro festival tag after the rapturous audience response to their sell-out two day easter weekend earlier in the year. Now solidly based across two days the festival is beginning to really flex its creative muscles as it pulls together an exceptional programme of international and home-grown talent for the July event.

Some of the highlights of the Summer line-up include - DUBFIRE; formerly one half of Grammy-award winning duo Deep Dish, and now an acclaimed producer and groundbreaking technological innovator in his own right. NITZER EBB (live) seminal act in the british EBM scene whose hard-edged electronic/industrial sound exerted a significant influence on the Detroit and Chicago house scenes, MARC HOULE (live) one of the most prolific artists to come from Richie Hawtins legendary Minus record label, DJ FUNK; Chicago legend and the original pioneer of Ghetto House, THE FALL (live) abrasive post-punk poets, internationally influential legends of the British Independent music scene, CHROME HOOF (live); an experimental orchestra whose compositions traverse jazz, metal, electro and disco and who have been described as "futuristic psychedelia". JOKER; production and DJ wunderkind of the UK Dubstep and Grime scenes.

Support from Glasgows prolific home grown scene is provided by OPTIMO, not only curating but djing together over both days, ERRORS; leading lights of the post-electronica scene playing live on home ground after a recent tour of the USA and Canada, ORDE MEIKLE (Slam) & GRAEME REEDIE (Silicone Soul) provide the backbone to the Pressure Street Party and further local support comes from Hung Up! resident Pro Vinylist Karim (PVK) and dj/promoter Benny Boom (Mixed Bizness).

The guests for this edition of Electric Frog have been programmed across the two days in a collaborative curation by Pressure, Optimo and Synergy Concerts. The Saturday line-up by Pressure and Optimo reflects a heavier electronic/dance focus with Pressure presenting the Street Party events, and Optimo hosting the indoor Warehouse Party, while the Sunday line-up, selected by Optimo and Synergy has a heavier focus on live performance with headline performances by The Fall, Chrome Hoof, Errors and Mount Kimbie.

The ethos of the Electric Frog is to mount a quality music festival event with-in easy access to all in the heart of Glasgow city, to curate a unique and diverse bill of djs and live artists who represent the very best in terms of both heritage and legacy from the past decades of dance music. The bill for the Summer Weekender continues Electric Frogs ethos to bring together iconic and influential artists from the past, emerging talents of the present day, and present them alongside the most exciting talent from Glasgow’s own vibrant and respected club scene.

Electric Frog 2011 is a collaboration between Liquid Events, SWG3, Slam Events/Pressure, Optimo and Synergy Concerts.
