‘A Quiet Night in’ Launch Night

LAUNCH NIGHT –
TEN OF AYRSHIRE’S FINEST, ALL UNDER ONE ROOF!

‘A Quiet Night in’ is, in fact, the complete opposite of a quiet night in…
AQNI aims to showcase some of Scotland’s finest bands and musicians in the form of a ‘mini music festival’. The Official Launch Night - taking place at The Monkey Club, Kilmarnock on Friday 23rd September - will play host to some of Ayrshires brightest musical talent, including: Fatherson, This Familiar Smile, Athos, Bellow Below, Fires Attract and Juan Pablo who will be gracing the Main Stage, with the Acoustic Stage being home to: Tragic O’Hara, Brown Bear & the Bandits, Logan & the La La Liars and John Condron. The event will run from 6.00pm - 11.30pm and is open to music lovers aged 14 and over. Tickets are £6 from either the promoter, bands or www.wegottickets.com. A very limited number of £5 tickets are available from several of the artists and wegottickets.com.

Local promoter and music-lover, David Bell of Kilmarnock, Ayrshire has decided to take a break from putting on his usual gigs, and try something a little different this time…
“I love gigs, but music festivals and all-dayers usually tend to be a lot more ‘eventful’ than normal shows - AQNI sort of meets somewhere in the middle. Ultimately I just want to create an atmosphere where people can have fun, perhaps discover a new favourite artist(?) and have a bit of a party in the process. What I really love is that sense of ‘community’ you get at these shows; as well as enjoying all of the music, this could be a great opportunity to meet some like-minded individuals and make some new friends.”

Main Stage head-liners Fatherson will be playing their first hometown show since their name change last year. After being away from home for so long, playing gigs all across
the UK with artists such as: Idlewild, Feeder, Twin Atlantic and Elliott Minor - not to mention performing at some of Scotland’s top festivals, including: T in the Park, Wickerman and Belladrum, the boys are happy to be playing their hometown once again - and they are all set for an eventful evening of music and madness.
“We’re all really excited to have been asked to play A Quiet Night In. Kilmarnock is where we all grew up and we’ve been eager to return for a show all year. David Bell has put a lot of work into the festival already and it looks set to be a brilliant night - something we can’t wait to be a part of. Being asked to headline is a total honour and it’s great to see so many amazing local bands on one bill”

Tragic OHara has played alongside artists such as Ocean Colour Scene and Roddie Woomble (Idlewild), toured in the UK alongside Son of Dave and worked with artists such as The Proclaimers. He has also had radio play on Vic Galloways Radio 1 show and BBC Radio 1 Introducing Scotland with Ally McRae, as well as airplay in the U.S and further a foot. He has released two LPs: "Above the Below" which is available on iTunes, and "Keep On Keeping On" which is set to be released in October. Tragic OHara - who is renowned for his lies and exaggerations - has been described as a man with a chest full of heart, a master craftsman of hopeful despair and an honest sinner.
