Doune The Rabbit Hole Presents a series of warm up shows.

Doune The Rabbit Hole Presents…

Festival bands play a season of preview shows.

Honey & The Herbs, Helicon and Behold The Old Bear kick off a programme of gigs in Glasgow and beyond to offer a taster of the music that will be on offer at this year’s Doune The Rabbit Hole Festival.

Taking place at Stereo, Glasgow on March 23rd 2012 headliners Honey & The Herbs play their trademark psych-lounge as a taster for the kind of things you can expect at the festival this year. They will be joined by experimentalists Helicon and new indie noisemakers Behold The Old Bear. Tickets are £5 on the door.

Even better - there will be a raffle for a chance to win a pair of festival tickets at the show - so all the more reason to come down and get into the Doune The Rabbit Hole spirit early!

This is the first of a programme of gigs that the festival has organised between now and August. Also coming up show from bands including The Cosmic Dead, The Lovely Eggs and The Plimptons. The next show will be 14th April at Nice n Sleazy, Glasgow and will feature Ted Milton (BLURT) & Sam Britton performing ‘Odes’, Fur Hood and Galoshins.

Doune The Rabbit Hole takes place on the weekend of August 24th-26th 2012 at Duncarron Fort, near Kilsyth. So far acts include The Phantom Band, Aidan Moffat & Bill Wells and JD Twitch (Optimo), Withered Hand, Sparrow & The Workshop and Three Blind Wolves. Check the website for the line up so far: www.dounetherabbithole.co.uk/line-up/

More bands are still to be added so keep an eye on the festival website, www.dounetherabbithole.co.uk, Twitter @dounetherabbit and Facebook.com/DouneTheRabbitHole for all the latest news updates.

This year the festival moves to a spectacular new home at Duncarron Fort. Situated in woods in the Carron Valley, near Kilsyth, the site is a recreation of an early medieval motte and bailey fort, a clan chief’s residence built as a living history attraction by the Clanranald Trust.

Weekend camping tickets are available now priced £78 if purchased before April 1st, £88 there after. Day tickets are also available – check out the website for more details.
