Firstly thanks very much if you made it along to Pin Ups Ladies Night at the end of February. The pictures are here - http://www.pinupnights.co.uk/events/pin-up-nights-ladies-night-friday-24th-february-2012/
There is now just one Pin Up Nights left and we intend to go down with all guns blazing at Pin Up Nights: Game Over on Friday 30th March. We’re delighted with the live bill we’ve managed to assemble for Game Over – without a doubt the best we’ve ever presented at Pin Ups.
In the main room are Chemikal Underground’s new signing Miaoux Miaoux (http://www.miaouxmiaoux.com/) (appearing with his full band, and Edinburgh MC Profisee) and the fantastic Sonny Marvello (http://www.sonnymarvello.net/). We have also assembled an all-star “unplugged bill” bringing their acoustic guitars:
Our old friends and regular Guest DJs The Twilight Sad (http://www.thetwilightsad.com/)
the star Guest DJ of our first birthday party back in June 2004, Malcolm Middleton (http://www.malcolmmiddleton.co.uk/); and
Ladies Night DJ Emma Pollock (The Delgados, Burns Unit) (http://www.emmapollock.com/).
On top of this incredible live bill we guarantee that for one last time we will be wheeling out all the Pin Up Nights Dancefloor Destroyers, most of which haven’t been played since we banished them to “Room 101″ at our 6th birthday back in 2009, sequenced expertly by John D, Paul Smith, Iain OC, Young Niall, James “Butcher” Cassidy and for one final night the returning legends Higgy, Baillie and Simon Stanley! The playlist is going to be all killer no filler so get your dancing shoes worn in now – there will be no excuses and no mercy on the night!
You can also expect:
Party Cannons! Jarvis Masks! Balloons! Cakes! Hilarity! Action!
A pure dead official PRS-approved Best Of Pin Ups Compilation CD, & maybe even a cheeky “I Was There” T-shirt, both available at souvenir-friendly prices!
All this and much more TBC!
To wrap things up we have invited our all-time hero JARVIS COCKER to Glasgow to bring down the curtain on 8 years of great music, chaos and hilarity. Huge thanks to everybody who has signed the GET COCKER petiton. Our offer has been made to Jarvis’s manager and we’ve even had an email from Richard Hawley’s manager personally assuring us he’ll get the petition under Jarvis’s nose! All this means there’s still a chance that everyone’s hero (that’s surely accurate) will be on the decks – our motto since 2003 has been “if you don’t ask you don’t get”! So keep signing, Tweeting, Facebooking and chatting about GET COCKER – read all about the campaign so far at our website blog and sign the petition here - http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/getcocker
For Pin Up Nights, Friday 30th March 2012 is most definitely Game Over. There will be no comebacks, and no phoney boring endless “Final Farewell Tours” , which in our opinion leave anybody who made the effort to get along to the previous “final ever night” feeling robbed. If you want to be at the final Pin Up Nights, Friday 30th March is where it’s at. We’d love to see you along whether you’re a Pin Ups regular, an ex Pin Ups regular or someone whose never actually been to any of our nights before. Now’s the time!

(Where else in the last 8 years and 9 months have you seen so much action for so little cost?) We haven’t a clue yet what the final ticket price will be, it’ll depend on what other action we add to the bill, but one thing’s for sure, it’ll be more than £6 – so go get em!
Thanks as ever and hopefully see you on 30th for Emotional Scenes!
