The Wel - Rehearsal and Creative Facility

Edinburgh events company Woosh Entertainments have created The Wel, a new rehearsal and creative facility, at their offices at Bonnington Road Lane in the North East of Edinburgh. The Wel is a flexible 28m2 space which is available to book for professional and semi-professional musicians as well as for tuition, recording and photography. The room is also ideal for small-scale theatre rehearsals and castings or auditions.

The fresh air ventilated room comes equipped with – Electrovoice PA, Allen & Heath mixing desk, 3 Sennheiser Vocal microphones, 4 DI Boxes, 2 Guitar Amps, 1 Bass Amp and a Mapex Meridian 6-piece Drum Kit. There are many little extras including free parking, free Wifi, spares and accessories for sale plus a social space with Microwave and a Fridge stocked with juice, water and snacks.

Already The Wel has played host to many varied clients including rehearsals by The Deadly Winters, Adam Holmes and The Embers, The Soul Foundation, Soulacoaster, K-Lab, Thirteen 7, Red2Red and The Elements. It has also been transformed into a studio for photographer Hamish Campbell.

Further to this, Woosh Entertainments have also been working closely with The Little Rooms, the private studio facilities of Producer/Engineers Andrew Clyne and Mo Storey. The Little Rooms have been working on a number of exciting projects including audio edits for the stadium music at Murrayfield for Scotland’s 6 Nations Rugby matches and Alan R Davisons up coming album. They have chosen The Wel as their primary Live Room.

Recording the debut album from Edinburgh based singer and songwriter Alan R Davison has been a large project for The Little Rooms. The White Eagle Lounge will be released in the Spring of 2012, with the completed album featuring 35 musicians who have taken part in the collaborative journey. Special guests include Snow Patrol members Nathan Connolly and Tom Simpson as well as Rick McMurray from Ash who has recorded his drum parts at The Wel. Alan has been creating many Video Blogs that feature background versions of the tracks as they are progressing plus footage of the growing performer cast.
