Events for Charities Press Release

Press Release April 2012

At Events for Charities we are pleased to announce that on the weekend of the 5th & 6th May 2012 we are holding a charity music event in Glasgow’s Merchant City area under the banner of “EFC Festival”. This year’s festival is in aid of Yorkhill Children’s Foundation, as we feel the work that the foundation does for families and children throughout Scotland is excellent. We feel the money raised from this year’s festival will benefit the families and the children who attend Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.

The event will take place in 6 music venues in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City featuring 62+ bands & artists of various genres who are giving their time and support to the event and charity. Bringing you a 2 day festival in Glasgow’s Merchant City.

The event is supported by Music News Scotland as one of our main sponsors for the event along with various DJ’s Jim Gellatly (In: Demand), Fraser Thomson (Real Radio), Cheryl Scott (KA Radio), Tom Russell (Real XS) & Father Ted (Rock Radio).

Events for Charities are hoping to raise lots for Yorkhill Children’s Foundation over the event. With the response to the event this is now to become an annual event taking place in May.

The venues involved giving up their space to host the event are Maggie May, Blackfriars, 13th Note, Committee Rooms 9, The Clutha and The Victoria Bar.

All venues apart from the Clutha and Victoria Bar are pay at the door / tickets, the Clutha and Victoria Bar are Free entry for two days hosting the finest covers bands from Glasgow / Ayrshire and surrounding areas.

Main stage at Maggie Mays will be headlined by Bombskare on the Saturday and Joint Headlined on the Sunday by Volts (ACDC Tribute) & Gallus Cooper(Alice Cooper Tribute) , other stages headlined by Dave Sharp ( Ex The Alarm), & The Mode.

We hope you can help support our events.
