Ambitious collaborative musical event More Than Sound returns to Glasgow on Saturday 28th July, following its debut last year.
More Than Sound is a day-long long event where musicians, songwriters, recording engineers and other creatives are challenged to write, record, mix and share a piece of music in one day. Opening at 11am, attendees are put into teams to create a piece of music, which are all submitted by 7pm. The teams then play back their creations, and are given the opportunity to discuss in more depth, while getting to know other musicians and producers within the industry. Publishers, managers and talent scouts are also invited to come and investigate what Scotlands most adventurous musicians have created.
Organiser Andrew Graham said "The spirit of the event is based on the hackathon format where restraints and limitations, such as time and equipment, are placed on the participants. The individuals at the event have to work in teams and challenge themselves to create something by the end of the day."
"The event is the nudge that creatives often need to finish that song they’ve always been writing or reach that new level in their craft."
The second annual event will be held at the SAE Annexe, 70 Stanley Street, Kinning park, G41 1JB.
