SOS CARRY ON SUZIE

Having mixed things up touring with Glasvegas, smashing Rockness and sharing the stage with Mona at the Edinburgh Festival, 2011 could be considered a good year for Glasgow band SOS. Lead singer Jonny Skinner was even described in the press as “Scotland’s answer to Roy Orbison” by Glasvegas frontman James Allan - highlighting his song writing abilities and ability to produce that bit of magic that Roy Orbison was famous for.

2012 has seen the boys holed up in a North London Studio (CIA Studio Rob McVey/Adrian Hall) working on a new EP, A Challenge to the Dark’, which is set for release towards the end of the summer (date tbc).

In between times, the band have managed a gig with London scenesters TOY and have been running their own nights across Glasgow and Edinburgh to devastating effect, spitting and snarling their way through the underground scene like some sort of street gang vying for top dog status...there’s a mysterious sound coming out of Glasgow and SOS are making all the noise.

A single launch party is taking place at Glasgows Stairway on Friday 22nd June and a series of London showcases will also follow over the summer months with the band having already captured the imagination of many of London’s most switched on A&R.

Suzie is an instant rock n roll classic...honed on the means streets of Glasgow...it’s like Roy Orbison meets The Clash meets Phil Spector...its a song to lift peoples spirits, fuck the phonies and fakes and slowly drift away to a better place...no bills, no debt, no pain, no depression, no work till Tuesday...

This song will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up...something to believe in…
