Read More Born To Be Wide, is to host its third annual Edinburgh Night with live previews by Scottish acts and industry DJs selecting their favourite four tracks by bands from the capital.
Taking place at the Electric Circus on Sunday 5 August, the event will feature ten-minute taster sets by artists playing in the city during the month, providing an opportunity for audiences to get a snapshot of some of Scotland’s most exciting talent.
Live performances will take place on the hour and half hour, and guest promoters, music journalists and other pillars of the local scene will play their favourite four records by Edinburgh artists in between.
Confirmed live acts include Fatherson, Fat Goth, Homework, Paul Gilbody, Siobhan Wilson and Teen Canteen, with more artists to follow.
During the daytime, there will also be in-store appearances at Avalanche Records and Coda Music.
Guest DJs include: David Weaver [Detour], Douglas Robertson [House Gigs], Gordon Reiley [Insider Festival]. Lach [Antihoot], Morevern Cunningham [Renaissance Woman], Scott Hutchison [Frightened Rabbit], Steven Milne [Lemon Tree, Aberdeen].
“This is a great opportunity to check out some of the Scottish acts playing during the Fringe and meet many of those who keep the scene going throughout the year,” says Born To Be Wide co-organiser, Olaf Furniss.
