EH1 Festival

EH1 Live 2012
Edinburgh – Sunday 16th September 2012.
Bringing together Scotland’s finest unsigned bands/artists in Edinburgh for a one day, one ticket access festival. Over 40 bands will play over 5 of Edinburgh’s finest venues throughout the day and night. EH1 LIVE promises a multi-dimension exploration of Scotland’s emerging music talent who are destined to stardom.
This year EH1 Live has brought up together a breath-taking line-up with the Glaswegian favourites, The Phantom Band, as headline act. Other high profile Scottish acts performing include The LaFontaines, Modern Faces, OK Social Club, The Imagineers, Hip Parade and Tommy Reilly.

5 REASONS TO GO TO EH1 LIVE
1. Welcome to Edinburgh
It’s that time of year again. Students are back, a new bunch of freshers are unleashed upon the bright lights of the big city, and this one-day, ‘one-ticket-accesses-everything’ festival gives the perfect introduction to the city and its outstanding music scene.
2. The venues
If you’re new to the city, you might want to remember where you’ve been after EH1, because you’ll no doubt be back there again. The five venues participating are Cowgate’s Sneaky Pete’s, the reinvented Cabaret Voltaire and much loved Liquid Rooms, the eclectic Electric Circus, and the underground live music bar Whistlebinkies.
3. The bands
Standout bands that creating a huge hype already are Glaswegian indie giants The Phantom Band who have sold out venues all over Britain.
Hometown Edinburgh crowd pleasers The OK Social Club who have a massive mix of influences from 50s and 60s girl groups to 70s punk Rock and Roll. Their edgy, melodic and ‘doesnt take itself too seriously’ music makes them one of the must see bands in Edinburgh right now.
Fresh from their performance at T in the Park 2012, The Imagineers have been included in this year’s line-up. Radio 1’s Ally Macrae sums them up , ‘They’re a band which makes music that makes you want to get up on the table and dance!”

4. The rest of the bands
The whole event has an indie-rock slant to it, and it’s likely you might find a real gem or two in amongst more than bands including, The Lysergic Suite, Modern Faces, The Stagger Rats, Tommy Reilly, The Lafontaines, Vigo Thieves Make Sparks, Hip Parade.

5. The fact it’s happening at all
A city the size of Edinburgh can never have too many people trying to do something different on its music scene, especially with the recent closure of music venues in Edinburgh. Based on the press the city has received on its current music scene, EH1 Live is the perfect way to support Edinburgh’s music scene whilst taking advantage of the opportunity to see the finest collection of Scottish unsigned music in one day.
With whispers going round Scotland claiming that Edinburgh’s music scene is far inferior to its neighbours Glasgow, EH1 LIVE provides the perfect platform to put all these doubts to bed. EH1 LIVE is becoming one of the most anticipated dates on Scotland music’s calendar and couldn’t offer Scotland’s music fans a better way to discover new talent.
