Read More Tom Meighan, the former frontman of Kasabian, is soon to launch his second solo album (later this year) and he has chosen Glasgow for a very special, acoustic gig. It is special for a few reasons (see bullets below) but also because fans will be treated to the UKs first play-back of Toms forthcoming new album.
It is on 11 July at Cottiers, the beautiful converted church in Glasgows West End.
Fans will hear the first UK play-back of his second solo album.
The live gig (of his RAW 24 show) will be recorded for a live album to be released in 2025.
Every ticket holder to the show will receive a production credit on the record. Prior to the performance that night, there will be a Q&A session with Tom where hell talk about his new album and his recent visits to so many grassroots venues around the country.
Hes been on an incredible journey to get where he is today. A much-publicised fall from grace saw Tom ousted from Kasabian in 2020 and ? in his own words ? he admits to: "A couple of years that were the lowest of my life. I wasnt sure if Id ever get on stage again." But he has rebuilt his life (and has been very open about it all) and he is now back with his second album.
Backed only by acoustic guitars and a stomp-box, Tom Meighan flays things to fundamentals in a skilfully stripped back set of primal and shamanic energy that virtually generates its own electricity. RAW 24 is a far from sedate acoustic show that has been slaying grassroots venues across the UK this year, clearly demonstrating Meighans undiminished vocal prowess, and renewing his lease on the songs that made him.
