Glaswegian indie/rock rising stars The Rooks release new single Get Up

Glaswegian indie/rockers The Rooks have released their brand new single, Get Up. Teaming up once again with GRAMMY Award-winning producer Jim Lowe (Foo Fighters, Stereophonics & more).

The anthemic new track is led by frontman Ross Gardiners dynamic and commanding vocals, which go hand in hand with the bands already accomplished musicianship. Get Up has been a fan favourite during recent live shows, receiving raucous chants from fans, and will no doubt continue to go down a storm at future gigs.

Get Up arrived just a day before the bands biggest headline show to date, which sold out in a matter of days! Saturday night saw The Rooks play a sold out King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, in the bands hometown of Glasgow. This is no mean feat for an independent band so early in their infancy, but a sure fire sign that this five-piece are on an incredibly successful and exciting trajectory.

The band have said of the highly-anticipated single release and show, "The reaction were seeing at home in Glasgow is cool; were at the beginning of this buzz around us at the moment, as people are starting to catch on. We released our first single last May and weve been on some good shows around the country since, but its nice to get our own show back in Glasgow, and it fill up that fast. Get Up will be our third single out, so were starting to get used to it all. Itll be out the day before the King Tuts show, so I think the crowd singing it will be something back for us and itll be good to share with the boys."

With support slots for the likes of Blossoms and Dylan John Thomas on sold out UK tours already under their belt, The Rooks have also caught the attention of Scottish singer-song-writing legend Lewis Capaldi, and Stereophonics
frontman, Kelly Jones.

Despite having only released two singles, both last year, the rising stars are ready to hit the ground running. Last year saw The Rooks release said singles, Lay Me Down and Renegade, which have racked up almost 50k streams combined on Spotify alone.

Sharing a mutual love of bands such as The Strokes and Kings Of Leon, the Scottish stalwarts met at school. Ross initiated the group forming, asked Cammy and drummer Coll to join him to practice, in the glamorous setting of the school music cupboard. Bassist Kieran had a ticket for the bands first show, but due to the pandemic it got rescheduled. Once the new date of the show came around, Kieran was part of The Rooks. The rest is history. The Rooks are Ross Gardiner (lead vocals), Cameron McKie (guitarist) Matthew McFadyen (guitarist) Kieran Luddy (bassist) and Coll McKinnon (drummer)
