Community coffee house and music venue Beanscene bid farewell to rising star, Carrie Mac, as she gears
up to release her debut single “hello” on 29th August.
Staff and regulars at Beanscenes Haymarket store shared happy-but-sad feelings on hearing that Carrie
would be moving on -
Andy, Beanscene Area Manager for the East of Scotland comments - “saying goodbye to Carrie on
a Friday, knowing that she would never return and would play the SECC on the Saturday was
heartbreaking, incredible and a little surreal. Naturally though, Carrie took it in her stride”
As a parting gift, Beanscene are handing Carrie the stage at virtually all of their Scottish stores, following in
the footsteps of Carries music hero’s K T Tunstall and Amy Macdonald.
Aaron McIvor, Spokesperson for Beanscene Scotland comments - “we are exceptionally lucky to
have had Carrie on staff and so we are making it our business to support her in any way that we
can. We are extremely proud of her and will be with her all the way!”
Carrie will tour ten of Beanscenes locations across Scotland playing intimate gigs for staff, customers and
an already-major pool of fans.
Carrie comments – “Beanscene is where I started - I’ve been there through all the hard work – and
now to think it’s where I’ll begin the next part of this journey is just wonderful”
John McLaughlin, songwriter to the stars, has been working closely with Carrie and has snapped her up as
the first artist under the Proto Records label.
John McLaughlin, Founder of Proto Records comments – “I have worked with many artists and
Carrie has something special - that was why I created Proto Records”
Carrie begins her Beanscene Live-Scene tour on 26th August and will tour many of Beanscene locations in
