Since forming in March 2010, Strawberry Ocean Sea (SOS) have slowly but surely seduced the local underground scene through a mix of their dark alternative sound, original lyrics, musicianship, live shows and the intangible mystery which follows the band everywhere they go.
2011 has already started well for the band with a sell out headline show at King Tut’s as part of the New Year’s Revolution series of gigs and the release of 3 new songs as free downloads - Today’s the Day, Enough is Never Enough and Under the Moonlight which have been well received by press, radio and labels alike.
These songs and limited edition artwork are now available to download at www.strawberryoceansea.com
The band will also promote the release at The Captains Rest, Glasgow (15th of March), the Noizy Indie Social, Cumbernauld (26th), and Shook to the Bones, Wishaw (31st) with further dates to follow in April.
In times of reality TV shows and manufactured pop acts, Strawberry Ocean Sea offer an honesty, integrity and quality which echoes acts who have went before them such as Arcade Fire, Echo and the Bunnymen and early U2.
SOS are something to believe in, something special, something which stands apart from anything else and gives hope back to the UK music industry. Today’s the Day.
