Detour Scotland at SXSW (on GlasgowmusicTV)

As GlasgowmusicTV is days away from launching, showcasing artist videos, interviews, live shows and content from film makers, video bloggers amongst others. I am happy to feature Scotland’s most original video bloggers Detour who are broadcasting from SXSW this whole week.

I will let you read their press release below to see what they have (sort of) planned. As you will know if you have been down to Detour, expect the unexpected.

I will be putting ALL Detour’s videos on the site for streaming in the coming days. GlasgowmusicTV will also host the content. If you have videos relevant to Glasgow please email them over to me for inclusion on the site.

Detour will be broadcasting live tonight to Bloc on Bath Street.

Detour Scotland are proud to announce that they will be in Austin, Texas with partners Creative Scotland for South By Southwest, the world’s biggest new music festival. They will be producing daily online coverage in their own infamous style, keeping new music fans back at home up‐to‐date with the experiences of the Scottish acts attending.

For the last 15 months, we have been creating unique online videos and live events, all promoting the best in Scottish music. Whether they’ve been kidnapping bands, taking tours of people to see bands play parks and toilets in Glasgow, or clearing up after their legendary monthly nights in Bar Bloc, its been done with a sense of adventure, a DIY ethic and an enthusiasm to promote new Scottish music.

They have been lucky enough to feature some of the best talent this nation has to offer; a tiny fraction of the list includes Admiral Fallow, The Boy Who Trapped The Sun, The Xcerts and Rachel Sermanni. No matter what the genre, the style or the scene ‐ they have put on artists they are passionate about, in ways youve never seen before.

Its been incredible so far, and its taken co‐creator Ally McCrae all the way to the Radio 1 Introducing job, as he was recently chosen to replace Vic Galloway on Scotlands flagship radio show.

So this month, with partners Creative Scotland, they will be doing a week‐long Youtube video blog, showcasing this years Scottish artists in Texas in unique and exciting ways; putting viewers at home right in the thick of the festival. Every day, they will be posting new videos with the Scottish bands, taking them on adventures, and relaying the madness and excitement back home.

A specially designed Youtube channel and video blog, will be launched and active on www.detour‐scotland.com from the beginning of the festival on 14th March.
