EXCLUSIVE OUTDOOR SCREENING OF YOU INSTEAD TO BE HELD
AT THE HOME OF TENNENT’S LAGER

Wellpark Brewery, home of Tennent’s Lager, is set to be the backdrop to a spectacular outdoor cinema as the world-famous brewery prepares to host a private, exclusive preview screening of You Instead, the indie rom com filmed at last year’s T in the Park. This will be the only chance for fans to see You Instead before it hits cinemas on general release. Tennent’s Lager will welcome the lucky 150 fans onto home turf for a very special evening on Thursday, 4th August.

As well as getting the chance to see You Instead - which is tipped to be one of this year’s hottest independent films - before it goes on national cinema release in September 2011, fans will also be treated to a special introduction by director David Mackenzie as they sit ‘backstage’ at the brewery where Hugh Tennent first started brewing the lager in 1885; all whilst enjoying the freshest pint of Tennent’s on the planet.

This very special event follows the latest installment in the adventures of Hugh Tennent. The new advert which is on screens now shows Hugh reflecting on the success of his first ever T in the Park at Balado in 1887 and celebrates the spirit of the festival, closing with an acknowledgement and thank you from Tennent’s to the hundreds of thousands of music fans who over the years have contributed enormously to the festival’s spirit, growth and success.

Wellpark Brewery will be the perfect backdrop for the exclusive screening on 4th August - it’s all set to be an evening for fans to remember as we open the doors to the home of Tennent’s”.

You Instead is a free-wheeling, rock ‘n’ roll comedy set against an unforgettable lost weekend at a music festival; filled with lust, betrayal, and a hundred thousand people partying to the greatest music in the world. The screening of the film comes hot on the heels of another sell-out T in the Park which saw Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, The Strokes, Beyoncé and Pulp, to name a few, entertain 85,000 of the most passionate music fans each day.

Luke Treadaway (Brothers of the Head, Clash of the Titans) stars as strutting indie star Adam, one half of globally successful duo The Make. Arriving at T in the Park for his latest gig, Adam finds himself accidentally handcuffed to Morello, played by Natalia Tena (Mrs. Henderson Presents, Harry Potter), lead singer for all girl punk band The Dirty Pinks. With no key in sight, the feuding pair must get through the weekend as best they can, delivering not one but two performances whilst having to placate a jealous girlfriend, an angry boyfriend and a lunatic manager; all in a weekend they will never forget.

The film was shot in July 2010 at T in the Park in Kinross-shire, Scotland. Cast, crew and extras all stayed onsite for the entire duration of filming, camping in a backstage enclosure. The film’s Director, David Mackenzie (Perfect Sense, Hallam Foe, Young Adam), comments, “You Instead was only made possible by the fans and the amazing T in the Park, so it’s only right we take it to Wellpark Brewery. This film really was made for the fans, so it’s great we have the opportunity to give them a preview screening set against a fantastic backdrop.”
