SCOTLAND’S UNSIGNED ARTISTS
ACTS HAVE ONE WEEK LEFT TO ENTER T BREAK
FOR THE CHANCE TO PLAY T IN THE PARK
Scotland’s unsigned bands and solo artists have just one week left to submit their demos to be in with a chance of playing the T Break Stage at T in the Park 2012. Tennent’s Lager are offering 16 of the country’s freshest and most exciting emerging unsigned artists the chance to play at T in the Park, which consistently boasts a bill crammed with the biggest artists and best breakthrough talent, and acts have until midnight on Monday 2nd April to enter T Break 2012.
A judging panel of 14 of Scotland’s most respected and influential music industry experts will then listen to each demo before selecting the final 16 acts which will go on to join the T in the Park 2012 bill, which features the likes of Main Stage headliners Snow Patrol, The Stone Roses and Kasabian performing in front of 85,000 music lovers per day between 6th – 8th July.
George Kyle, Head of Sponsorship for Tennent’s Lager, said: “Tennent’s are incredibly proud to support Scotland’s grassroots music scene through T Break, and we’ve had a fantastic response to our call for demos so far. There’s still time to enter however, and we’d like to urge unsigned bands and solo artists to take advantage of this incredible opportunity and upload their demos now.”
The Lafontaines, Cancel the Astronauts and Marrik Layden Deft with Scatabrainz played the T Break Stage in 2011, and the groups are encouraging unsigned artists in Scotland to enter the process in 2012.
The LaFontaines said: "For any band in Scotland, T in the Park is one of those things you dream of playing. Once you’re ready, T Break gives you the opportunity to move up a level and play to an audience at one of the UKs top music festivals."
Cancel the Astronauts said: “We had a fantastic time at T in the Park last year, and it was a great experience to be involved in. To be part of Scotlands biggest music festival was a very special thing. We would advise any unsigned band to enter.”
Marrik Layden Deft said: "To any artists or bands thinking about entering - DO IT! Get your songs sorted. Its an excellent experience, you never know who you are going to meet. Playing the T Break Stage has opened the door to so many opportunities for us."
Entrants must be aged 18 or over, live in Scotland, and must be currently unsigned. Bands and solo artists can submit their demos of original music (in any genre) via Facebook for the first time ever this year - full information on how to enter is available on www.facebook.com/TennentsTBreak and www.tennents.com/tbreak. Demos must be submitted before the deadline of Monday 2nd April.
Tennent’s will announce the T Break Stage line-up in May.
