We’re celebrating International Womens Day and the fact that the greatest girl band of all time are in town (that’s Girls Aloud for those of you who don’t know any better!)


We three girls will be spinning tunes by our favourite ladies all night. We’ll have everything from Bananarama, Sugababes, The Breeders, Hole, Le Tigre, Kenickie, Destiny’s Child, Elastica, Sleeper, Long Blondes, Haim, Dragonette, Spice Girls, The Go-Gos, All Saints, Fleetwood Mac, The Bangles, Mis-Teeq, Saint Etienne, Blondie, Fuzzbox, TLC, The Primatives, Lipps Inc, Shampoo, No Doubt, The Concretes, The Ravonettes, The Saturdays, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Icona Pop, Deap Vally, Transvision Vamp, The Veronicas, Gossip, CSS, The Sounds, The Naked & Famous, The Runaways, The Slits, Ladytron, En Vogue, Salt n Pepa, The Supremes and The Ronettes – let’s hear it for the girls!

Notes to editors


We are Aarti, Pam & Lynne, three gals with good tunes and bad moves. We like dark scuzzy clubs and sweaty sticky dancefloors. We like playing old stuff, new stuff, and all the inbetween stuff - pop gems, retro electro and indie rock n roll.

We are Glasgow’s best alternative club night, 7 years and counting. We have lovely regulars and the prettiest dancefloor in town - with a friendly, unpretentious crowd, Pretty Ugly is Glasgow’s best kept secret and an indie pop institution.


If there’s one thing we Pretty Ugly ladies know how to do, it’s throw a party! If you’ve never been before you’ve missed our 90’s extravaganza, our Mad Men inspired night plus we’ve even thrown a wedding reception in the club which resulted in a real live proposal from one of our regulars!


We sometimes have guest DJs – The Long Blondes, Manda Rin from Bis and Ari Up from The Slits have all graced our stage. We also invite DJ’s from our favourite club nights and musicians from the hottest local bands to join us on the decks from time to time.


There are many musicians that fill our dancefloor every month – members of Belle & Sebastian, We Are Scientists, Arab Strap, The Twilight Sad, Chvrches, Desaparecidos, Idlewild, Kenickie, Biffy Clyro, Mogwai, The Raveonettes plus many other up and comers from the Glasgow music scene have all been spotted throwing some shapes at Pretty Ugly over the years.


Pretty Ugly takes place every second Saturday of the month at The Admiral Bar.
