Read More Scottish folk musician, Rachel Sermanni has written and recorded a new song for RBS latest TV advert. The 22-year-old, from Carrbridge, Inverness-shire, composed Everything Is OK for the bank’s Here For You commercial, which highlights some of the day-to-day ways in which RBS helps its customers.
Rachel recently funded her album by using Pledge Music so knows she needs to keep an eye on her funds as an up and coming musician to pay for her Recordings aswell as her rent. She said “The idea that I’m playing music for a living is still hard to get my head around so keeping track of money is important. When people are talking about banks, everything aside, really it’s just about a sort of security. I try to save as much as I can and I have a weekly balance update texted to my phone every Wednesday.”
Rachel has supported acts such as Mumford & Sons and Elvis Costello. She will be on tour this summer and you will be able to catch her at various festivals.
Rachel first got in touch with RBS through social media since the bank offers help to customers through Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. The singer-songwriter revealed: “I tweeted RBS and asked them what they would recommend for an account that would be good for a musician.” The bank’s Twitter help team responded and the rest, as they say, is history.
Great news for you too. The track is free to download on Soundcloud. The track is also available on iTunes and Spotify. Find out more over on RBS’ Here For You website http://unr.ly/KE9aim .
