Tim Montana (yes, its his real name) was raised in the wilds near Butte, Montana, where he grew up in a home without electricity. Eager to develop his passion for playing guitar, he moved to Los Angeles where the bright lights of the big city proved to be a culture shock.
His first big break arrived in a uniquely Tim Montana way. During a trip back home in 2008, he somehow found himself in the company of David Letterman who subsequently invited him to perform his song Butte, America on the Late Show.
Eventually he ended up in Nashville, where he formed his band the Shrednecks and established himself as a thrilling live performer. He also made two key creative connections: co-writing two singles for Kid Rocks Sweet Southern Sugar album, and regularly writing, recording and performing with ZZ Top legend Billy F. Gibbons. In 2013, the hirsute rockers penned This Beard Came Here To Party, which became the theme song of the Boston Red Sox as they fought to a World Series championship.
As a passionate advocate for the U.S. military, a foodie, a marksman and an adrenaline junkie, Montana is a multi-faceted character yet music remains his core calling. The American Thread album features collaborations with Kid Rock who features on Cowboys On The Run, and Billy F. Gibbons who co-wrote Turnaround Town.
Further star names also contributed to the albums accompanying videos. Charlie Sheen directed and cameoed in Mostly Stoned; X Games star Travis Pastrana appears in the visual to the title track; Hillbilly Rich stars the NAVY Seal / SEAL Team Six veteran Robert J. ONeill; while Black Rifle Coffee co-founder, author and YouTuber Mat Best features in Bury Me By The Bonfire.
