This year Oxfam have expanded their nationwide local music festival Oxjam, by launching the UKs largest digital charity music competition, Oxfam Band of the Year.
The winner gets the accolade of winning Oxfams first and the UKs largest charity music competition and a bands worth of free kit from Fender.
To enter bands are required to add their information and post a video of them in action on Facebook at: http://apps.facebook.com/oxjam-band-of-year/. (Or search for Oxjam Band of the Year on Facebook). Each week there are challenges for bands to win bonus votes. The challenges all happen via social media (last week bands were asked to get the word oxjam into a song and post it in a instagram video, for example).
Anyone can listen to bands via the app and have the chance to vote on Facebook throughout October. At the end the five bands with the most votes will go onto be judged by a panel of industry experts, including 6 music presenters Shaun Keaveny and Nemone, well known music journalist Kate Hutchinson and Damon Chivers from Fender who will choose a winner.
