BIG CITY is returning to Queens Park this August.

Big City is an all day festival curated by Glasgow’s own Mogwai – and will feature performances from label mates, friends and peers of the band across two stages. Returning to the site of the 2024 event, there will also be a full selection of licenced bars and food trucks.

Says Mogwais Stuart Braithwaite: “We are incredibly proud to bring the big city festival back to Glasgow for a third year. There are some incredible bands playing this year and we look forward to presenting this brilliant lineup.”

This summer’s event will be headlined by Super Furry Animals, the acclaimed Welsh rock band making their anticipated return to live shows after a near decade long hiatus. Blending psychedelic rock, electronic sounds, and melodic pop, they became key figures in the 1990s “Cool Cymru” movement. Their debut album, Fuzzy Logic, gained critical acclaim for its inventive production and offbeat lyrics. They continued their success with albums like Radiator and Rings Around the World. Known for recording in both English and Welsh, the band built a reputation for creativity and experimentation.

In addition, Big City welcomes the influential English space rock band Spiritualized. Their music blends psychedelic rock, gospel, and orchestral elements into expansive, emotional soundscapes. The acclaimed album ‘Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space’ cemented their reputation in 1990s alternative music. Spiritualized explore themes of love, addiction, and transcendence through lush arrangements and powerful live performances.
