TEENAGE FANCLUB RETURN FOR UK TOUR DATES THIS SUMMER - KELVINGROVE BANDSTAND SHOW 31ST JULY

Following rave-received tours of the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Europe in the last few years, the cult Scottish indie band are back on home soil to play some choice venues in a town near you.

Kicking off with a hometown show at Glasgows Kelvingrove Bandstand (31 July), the bands upcoming route will take them to Frome, Sunderland, Castleton, Holmfirth, Bedford and beyond throughout August 2025. With some of the shows already SOLD OUT, remaining dates and availability can be found below.

Support for the shows will come from Selma French and Dark Globes (Southend Only).

Speaking about the upcoming tour, Teenage Fanclub said:

"This summer, in August, we will be sauntering around England, playing in what will be for us some lesser-visited or never-visited places. Arriving from Norway to join us on these dates will be Selma French. Her new album No Sign Of Rotten Leaves has just been released, check it out! Performing with us for one night only in Southend-on-Sea will be local luminaries Dark Globes. Some of these shows are already sold out, others getting close..."

Long renowned Glasgow five-piece, Teenage Fanclub, are led by founding members Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley, with drummer Francis Macdonald, bassist Dave McGowan and keyboardist Euros Childs.

A rare thing, Teenage Fanclub are one of Britains most beloved cult outfits, with a career spanning three decades and fervent fans growing up alongside them. Ever since their formation in 1989, the bands esteemed discography has soundtracked many a life: from the early 90s era-defining Bandwagonesque to albums such as Thirteen, Grand Prix, Songs From Northern Britain, Howdy!, Man Made, Shadows & Here, Endless Arcade and more.

Their most recent album, Nothing Lasts Forever, was released via the bands own label PeMa (in the UK/Europe) in 2023 to much acclaim. Hailed as "impressive" by Uncut (8/10), and "rich and expansive" by Record Collector (4/5), Clash Magazine enthused of the record "A celebration of what makes Teenage Fanclub great, its a finely balanced LP of under-stated charms. Nothing Lasts Forever they say – except, perhaps, for Teenage Fanclub."

Of the recent album Teenage Fanclubs Norman Blake says:

"These songs are definitely personal. Youre getting older, youre going into the cupboard getting the black suit out more often. Thoughts of mortality and the idea of the light must have been playing on our minds a lot. The songs on the last record were influenced by the breakup of my marriage. It was cathartic to write those songs... Theyre fairly optimistic, theres an acceptance of a situation and all of the experience that comes with that acceptance. When we write, its a reflection of our lives, which are pretty ordinary. Were not extraordinary people, and normal people get older. Theres a lot to write about in the mundane. I love reading Raymond Carver. Very often theres not a lot that happens in those stories, but they speak to lived experience."

Hear them playing material from the album, and classics, at these UK summer dates as follows:
